Funds Support Youth Mental Health in Napa Valley
Monies raised will help fund youth mental health initiatives in Napa Valley. Recipients will include SHINE Napa Valley among other organizations that provide mental health support.
Last year, $1.5 million were raised to support SHINE, a collaborative that brings together schools, community and nonprofit service providers to address the issues of youth mental health. Already during this school year results confirm the program is helping students:
- Two additional full-time therapists have been added to the SHINE team
- More than 1,000 students visited two newly opened Wellness Centers
- Nearly 800 students have been served individual or group therapy.
“By providing a safe space on campus, we meet kids where they are. They need a place to go when they are feeling down, worried or just need a respite. One intervention can change the course of a student’s life, and that is why we’re so excited about this collaboration,”
said Jennifer Stewart, of the SHINE Collaborative and Napa Valley Education Foundation.
Those interested in attending can view the schedule. Membership is complimentary, and all levels of participation have the option to purchase tickets to the event.
