SOTHEBY’S OPENS NEW YORK WINE AUCTIONS WITH FINEST & RAREST WINES ON 24 FEBRUARY
Nearly 550 Lots Emerging from the Most Celebrated Producers in Burgundy, Bordeaux,Napa and More
NEW YORK, February 2018 – Sotheby’s is delighted to open the New York wine auction season with Finest & Rarest Wines on 24 February 2018. Drawing from some of the best cellars known to Sotheby’s, the collections in this auction feature wines from the most sought-after domaines in Burgundy, the top châteaux in Bordeaux, and highly regarded winemakers in Spain, Italy, Napa and beyond. Highlights from the sale’s 500+ lots include magnums of Dujac, Mugnier and Roumier; an incredible array of DRC including 8 vintages of La Tâche; historic verticals of Petrus ranging from 1964-1999 and Vega Sicilia Unico 1942 -1994; and the legendary Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 1975. Also noteworthy are magnums of Dom Pérignon Oenothèque 1964 and Krug Collection 1964, bottles of 1929 Latour and Vosne -Romanée Les Gaudichots DRC originally offered from the Private Cellar of Doris Duke, and Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1974. Whiskey highlights include Black Bowmore Rare Single Malt 42 Years 1964, and Pappy Van Winkle Private Reserve 20 and 23 year Kentucky Bourbon.
