Sotheby’s, in association with Kerry Taylor Auctions, is thrilled to offer Couture Fashion Jewellery: The Personal Archive of Shaun Leane on Monday 4 December.
Shaun Leane, the award winning British designer, is celebrated for his dynamic style which fuses fashion, art and fine jewellery. With a background in traditional goldsmithing he has an innate understanding of precious jewels and metals, which he has then challenged and elevated to create exquisite, provocative and contemporary jewellery and body adornments.
Created by Shaun Leane over the course of more than 20 years, the Evening Sale will feature over 45 bespoke pieces he produced for icons of the fashion industry, including legendary houses Alexander McQueen and Givenchy, and worn by the likes of the Honourable Daphne Guinness, Isabella Blow, Kate Moss and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The auction features more than 30 original designs for Alexander McQueen, spanning his runway collections from Autumn/Winter 1996 to Spring/Summer 2008.
This auction offers both jewellery collectors and couture enthusiasts a unique chance to acquire covetable treasures of fashion history, with works ranging from $2,000 to $400,000.This auction will be a highlight of our inaugural A Life of Luxury auction series this December in New York.
